The Council Bluffs Swim Club is a 501c (3) non-profit swim club organization that provides competitive training for beginning-level, age-group, high-school and college level swimmers.
The Council Bluffs Swim Club was originally started in 1968 by Paul Kealy as an AAU team called the Town & Country Aqua Club. Our current head coach Bruce Schomburg was named the head coach of that first team. The club TCAC at that time only practiced in the summer at the Town & Country Aqua Club Outdoor Swimming Pool in Council Bluffs and participated in local summer league swim meets as well as Midwestern sanctioned AAU swimming meets.
In 1977 the club (Town & Country Aqua) began practicing year around. For 2 years the team practiced at the Omaha Downtown YMCA during the Fall/Winter months participating in the Midwestern Short Course Season as well as the Long Course Season.
In 1979 the club (Town & Country Aqua Club) moved to the Lewis Central School District to practice at a newly built 8 lane indoor pool at the Lewis Central Middle School. Note: Now the Lewis Central Titan Hill Intermediate School.
In 1985 when Midwestern Sanctioned Swimming left AAU swimming and went to the USA Sanctioned Swimming the Town & Country Aqua Club changed their name to the Council Bluffs Swim Club.
